Biggs Darklighter: Biggs Man On Campus!

Biggs Darklighter, son of wealthy food magnate Huff Darklighter, was a Tatooine native and friend of Luke Skywalker. Biggs made it off the desolate sandy rock that is Tatooine and joined the Imperial pilot academy. Biggs eventually rebelled against the Empire and the crew of the ship he and his squadron were stationed on and fought his way into the Rebellion. Later on he met Luke again before the battle at Yavin. Later on Biggs was shot down and Luke made that fatal shot and dealt a first major blow against the Empire. This version of Biggs--in his man-about-Tosche Station outfit from the 30th Anniversary collection is a pretty decent figure. He does however come with a soft-goods cape, a removable plastic vest and his trusty hold-out blaster. The top half of this figure has decent articulation but the lower half suffers from the stiff limbs of the old figures from the POTF2 era. Despite the lack of some essential articulation this Biggs is still a pretty cool figure despite the fact that he's a bit dated now. Besides he's one of the only guys in the Star Wars saga to rock a mustache!

  1. Not too hot about the shoulders on this figure, but then again maybe the cape wasn't meant to be removed. And there's that fatal mustache, haha!

  2. Oh no the cape clearly can be removed. It has an elastic neck band. Yeah without the vest his white shoulders look pretty out of place. There's a funny joke in here somewhere about "Mustache rides and exploding x-Wings"

  3. I don't think it's supposed to be a vest, I think this is Hasbro's solution to creating a layered look of an open jacket. They did a similar thing with the Yavin Ceremony Luke as well.

Nice blog by the way I am really enjoying going through all your posts.

  4. hah yeah you're right it's no intended as a vest, but is removable like one. Perhaps it has zip off sleeves like those pants that zipped off into shorts that were popular some years ago. Glad you like the blog! We have a blast doing it!
