Babe-a Fett: Female Mandalorian!

We're happy to announce that we're in the process of coming back from our extended absence. Thanks to everyone who has been waiting patiently for our return to regular posting!

What better to kick it off with than our latest custom creation? This time we went all out for the "Create a Mandalorian Custom Contest" over on The Imperial Shipyards and created our very own action figure version of Babe-a Fett the female Boba Fett. After some extensive google research we believe this to be the first ever custom action figure of a female Boba Fett. The only other 3D likeness being that of a non-articulated statuette. While we're still skeptical that this could be the first of this awesome concept we're also thrilled at the chance to have created something that could be unique. There must be someone out there who has also made a female Fett but hasn't posted it online yet.

We received this AMAZING video today from our good friend Darth Daddy from the Customs For The Kid blog. There he has an awesome segment known as "Star Wars: Customs I Wish I Owned" he was kind enough to choose to feature some of our custom work in this stellar video! You may recall Darth Daddy and his son and co-pilot, Elias, from all their help getting the word out for Toys For Eli. A big thanks to them and an official

We've been taking a break here (you may have noticed) and we don't want you to worry. We'll be back with regular posts starting Sept. 1st.

Life, yes there's more to life than action figures, has gotten a bit crazy right now and the economy (US) hasn't helped any.

Sky Girl: Rebel Pilot Pasha

Another amazing painting by Art De Whill of The Imperial Shipyards. This time his intergalactic skills have created Pasha, a Rebel pilot based on Kixxy Zoulou's back story. Art's painting is based on the custom Kixxy pilot we made here at AFE and we're beyond thrilled to see Art create Pasha! Once again we're floored by Art's Art! Tycho Celchu: Ace Fighter Pilot!

Before the destruction of Alderaan at the hands of the Empire, Tycho Celchu grew to age and joined the Imperial Navy as a Tie Pilot. It was after the destruction of his home world that Tycho decided to defect from the Empire and join the rebel alliance. He quickly rose through the Rebellion's pilot core and became one of their most promising pilots. It was there that he met Wedge Antilles, another hot-shot pilot. He flew in both the battle of Hoth and the battle over Endor. When Wedge took over as Rogue Leader for Rogue squadron, Tycho quickly became his second in command. When Wedge left Rogue Squadron to form Wraith Squadron, Tycho assumed his friend's duties as Rogue Leader. After this Tycho was given permanent command of Rogue Squadron and eventually retired, marrying Leia's aid, Winter. During the battle of Endor Tycho piloted an A-Wing Starfighter--as a member of Green squadron, before trading in the interceptor class fighter for the standard X-Wing that became the signature of Rogue Squadron. Tycho is one of the best pilot characters the Star Wars Universe has to offer. If you're a fan of the Rogue Squadron comics or the novels then you know how cool it is to have this figure! Perhaps someday Hasbro will give us a Tycho in X-wing pilot flight suit. He comes fully articulated and ready for action with a removable helmet, helmet liner, and flight harness. If you are a fan of Rebel pilots like us, you definitely need a Tycho in your collection! Highly Recommended!

Willhuff Tarkin: Republic Senator

Before he was a Grand Moff and holding Vader's leash, Tarkin worked his way up through the Republic Senate. He even had a run in with the wily youth, Princess Leia, who among teasing Tarkin, also dropped a water balloon on him, sullying his above dress uniform. Destroying Alderaan seems a bit of an over reaction, but some people hold grudges. This unique Tarkin figure is from the Comic Pack series and comes with a poorly articulated Stormtrooper and the comic in which Tarkin first meets Leia. Although he lacks some of the articulation we've come to expect from the modern figures, this Tarkin gives us a glimpse into the past of one of the most notorious Imperials in history. Get yours today! And start building your Republic Senate!

A Custom Take On A Classic Story...

Here we have our custom Star Wars take on the classic tale of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Master Hyde, a brilliant healer, Jedi Master and Jedi scientist was working to perfect a serum of pure midichlorians to use to create force sensitive beings to help fill the ranks of the Jedi order. Deciding to test the serum on himself he was trasnformed into a hideous beast of the Dark Side--Darth Jekyll. The failed experiment created a man forever locked in turmoil--fighting against the two personas trapped within one body.

Custom Phatty: Armored Jedi Master!

One of the Admins over at The Imperial Shipyards wanted to see himself as an armored Jedi. In my mind I thought, "That's like having a ninja wear samurai armor. A Jedi needs to be able to move, and jump, and evade detection." So I thought of a lightly armored General curing the Clone Wars era. Here is Jedi Master Solarr Faa'tee wielding his Saber-lance.

Wooof: Jedi Fodder!

Wooof was a smuggler with a penchant for gambling. As an excellent pilot, Wooof, was contracted by Jabba The Hutt to pilot his many crafts, including his private luxury yacht. He moonlighted as an assistant to the skiff master Barada and worked as a mechanic on Jabba's skiffs. Owing a huge sum of money to Jabba in the form of a gambling debt, Wooof was put to work to repay what he'd borrowed or stolen. Wooof was a skiff guard during the battle over the Pit of Carkoon and died when Luke Skywalker redirected a blaster bolt with his lightsaber into Wooof's body. Hasbro released a Wooof figure as part of the Vintage Collection's ROTJ wave and what an awesome figure he is! He comes fully articulated with soft-goods skirt/tunic that resembles animal fleece, a vibro axe, a hold out blaster, a removable bandoleer, and a removable headdress. If you don't have Wooof yet your Jabba's palace is lacking an amazing figure! You might still find one lurking on a peg hook somewhere! Hurry! Highly Recommended!

Shadow Guard: Jumping At Shadows!

Out of the remnants of one of the most feared military power in the galaxy, the Sun Guard (Hasbro please make some figures of them!), formed on Thyrsus by a rebel group of Echani warriors, the Emperor built his legion of Shadow Guards. The Sun Guards were fierce foes of both Mandalorians and Echani. They became a Sith cult loyal to the Sith order and eventually were under Darth Sidious' command. The Sun Guard fought in the clone wars and eventually Palpatine absorbed the surviving members into the ranks of the Red Guards, Royal Guards, and for those that were force sensitive, Shadow Guards. Mostly unknown to most Imperials the Shadow Guards carried out the most deadly of assaults often utilizing Shadow Stormtroopers as their foot soldiers. One of the most elite, revered and feared units in the Imperial military machine, Shadow Guards wore black robes and armor and wielded saber pikes and carried blaster side arms. Hasbro's Shadow Guard figure released as part of the 30th Anniversary line is awesome! With a repainted Karnor Jax/Kir Kanos body (available together in a comic pack) and a solid helmeted head these figures strike a dramatic pose in any collection. Sporting a saber pike with removable blade, a scout trooper pistol, and removable black soft-goods cloak they come fully articulated and ready for battle. The only drawback to the figure is the fact that it has swivel elbows, otherwise an excellent looking figure! Recommended!
